General questions

How do I set up a meeting with my dentist?
If you are already a patient of our clinic, all you need to do is call us for settling a medical consultation session. If you are not a member of our clinic, please mention this to the person available at the front desk to guide you through.
How do I settle an appointment with a specialised physician?
If you are a patient of our clinic and you need specialised advice, address the senior specialised dentist. He/she will refer you to one of the physicians specialised in the issue you are concerned with.
Who can I address to in case of emergency?
Contact us and leave a message for the emergency dentist regarding your emergency. The patients with emergencies are, normally, received the same day for medical consultations.
Can I visit my dentist during pregnancy?
If it is about a routine intervention, it is recommended that you are provided dental care in the second pregnancy trimester. For the major procedures, such as reconstruction or dental surgery, it is recommended to have them performed after you will have given birth.
How do dental X-rays affect me during my pregnancy?
In principle, dental X-rays are safe during pregnancy. The lead apron protects you and the foetus. However, the physicians do not recommend X-rays unless absolutely necessary. X-rays and treatments should generally be postponed until after birth.
What type of physician should I address to?
For starters, you should get the opinion of a physician specialised in general dentistry. He/she is the one able to identify the situation you are in and guide you to a specialist colleague. In the case of children, it is recommended to have them consulted by the same dentist.
Can I stay with the child during the visit to the dentist?
Children younger than 3 years old feel safer when they are accompanied, which facilitates the examination and the physicians treatment. It was noticed however that the physician child relation is facilitated in the case of children older than 3 if the parents are not present during the visit.
Why are my teeth so important?
The studies showed that when they speak to each other, people look at the interlocutors mouth for 50of the time, and the rest of the face during the other 50 Therefore, teeth care must be a priority because they are one of the most visible parts of our faces. Your teeth are different in shape and size depending on their position in the oral cavity. These differences allow the teeth to have various roles. Teeth help us chew the food, speak and clearly pronounce certain sounds. Not least of all, teeth help us keep a beautiful form of the face. A healthy smile is an important quality, and that is why it is best if you provide your teeth the best of cares.
What bad thing can happen to my teeth?
Untreated tooth caries can lead to affecting the dental nerve. It may get infected and die by causing an abscess. Therefore, you will need a canal treatment. The gingival affections are the most frequently met cause for tooth loss in adults. The gingival affections are treatable and they can be held under control through regulated check-ups.
What does canal filling mean?
The canal treatment (including the filling), also called "endodontic" treatment is required when the blood or the tooth nerve (also known as the tooth pulp) is infected because of the caries or of certain accidents.
Why is the tooth canal treatment required?
If the tooth pulp is infected, the infection can go beyond the tooth canal system. If we do not take care of the teeth canals, the infection may extend and we may have to extract the tooth.
Is it painful?
No. Local anaesthesia is used and you should not feel any difference compared to a usual filling.
What does this intervention involve?
The purpose of the treatment is to remove the infection from the tooth canal. The canal is cleaned and filled in order to prevent any future infection. The tooth canal treatment is a very delicate and time-consuming procedure. Most of the times, this treatment involves two or more visits to the dentist. Upon the first meeting, the infected dental pulp is removed. Any abscess (which may exist) can also be drained during this meeting. The tooth canal is cleaned and prepared for filling. A temporary filling is performed and the tooth is left to clean itself. Upon the following visit, the tooth is checked and when the infection is fully removed the final filling is performed.
Will the tooth be saved after treatment?
Yes. Anyway, it is better to restore the tooth with a crown in order to provide additional support and strength.
